RAD’s Fall 2011 Singing Songwriting Contest was a wonderful two-day event at Gizzis Cafe, 16 West 8th St. NYC. First Prizes were awarded at RAD Night, Friday, Sept. 23 at Gizzis, to singer-songwriters Michael Aiello and Emily Rupp, who will record their award-winning songs with RAD this Fall. They were on-stage at Gizzis Friday night to perform, as was Matthew Kiss, Second Prize winner, who will record with RAD this Fall. Awards of free studio time and consults with RAD Producer Phil Carroll, were also given to Pamela Drake, Carmen Carreno, Bethany Libby, Betsy Jilka, Roger Ortega, Linden Anderson and David Powers. Spring 2011 Winner, Noni Culotta, sang her original “Porch Swing,” recorded with RAD this Summer. RAD’s Fall Recording starts Oct. 6, with a Listening/Holiday Party Dec. 2.
