Our Sessions

RAD conducts three eight-week intensive sessions a year, in which several singer-songwriters, selected by audition, work with our producer in our recording studio. Participants meet in five three-hour group sessions with other participants and industry professionals, where in-progress songs are played and critiqued by all group members. Our producer works with each singer/songwriter to write, arrange and produce the artist’s music into a final CD recording. Participants have the experience of working closely with our producer and other musicians in the recording studio. Each artist has the experience of writing, arranging, and producing his or her piece of music in a supportive and creative environment. The focus is on artistic development, songwriting technique, and style as well as hands-on recording studio techniques. RAD provides each artist with a CD of their work he or she can then use to pursue their artistic goals. 

Our Auditions

RAD holds advertised, open auditions in New York City throughout the year for prospective participants in our recording sessions. 

Our Listening Sessions

RAD holds regular listening sessions in which our producers and artists have an opportunity to share their work in a safe and supportive environment.  The sessions offer professional feedback and suggestions for improving work.  RAD listening sessions are open by invitation to other non-RAD producers who may wish to share their work and get feedback as well.
